You were just 3 months old when I picked you up at the animal shelter to take you home. You would not sit in a seat next to me, you had to be on my lap driving home. I knew then you would always be by my side. From a puppy to an adult we went through dog training classes, attempted agility training classes, and even went to shy dog classes only to find out you just wanted to be by my side or on my lap. You just wanted to protect me and our home, and I will be forever grateful to have had you in my life. From sleeping by my side to greeting me at the door you have been a tremendous joy in my life. While my heart is broken, and I am hurting that I do not have you by my side. I will miss your joker smile and your howling bark forever. I know you are free from pain, and I want you to know your job of protecting me is done. You can rest now baby boy and just know you will always be the baby!
