Nutmeg
2014 - 2025
Nutmeg joined my life when I was stepping out on my own for the first time — just a 3-month-old puppy, full of boundless energy, joy, and curiosity. Only three months later, Panda came home, and together they became inseparable, a perfect bonded pair. For nine years, they were my family, my anchors, and my constant companions.
Through the quiet years of graduate school, the challenges of teaching, and the loneliness of living alone, Nutmeg was there — with a wagging tail, a soft nuzzle, and unwavering loyalty. Daily walks became our ritual, our therapy, our shared joy. Her heart was so big that she even trained in Paws for Service, sharing her love with others as she had always done with me.
When I welcomed my human babies into this world, Nutmeg was there too — gentle, patient, and steady. She taught me about unconditional love long before I became a mother, and she continued to remind me of it every day of her 12 beautiful years.
Nutmeg was more than a dog. She was a part of my story, a thread woven through every milestone and season of my adult life. Her memory will forever live in my heart, alongside Panda, and in the laughter and love of the family she helped me build.
“Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge, thank you, Nutmeg, for everything.”
